This past Sunday we had the privilege of working with Caycie Smith of Honey Images on our very first photo shoot with real models and not just Mr Dicky Wang by himself!!! Caycie was given creative freedom with this shoot and I am proud to say that we were blown away by the work she did. Not only did all of the models have the look we were after, but the location and studio shoots were simply amazing! In the line up we had some talented up and coming models, make up and hair stylists, local music talent, and social media stars. Keep on the lookout for this very talented photographer!! For info about Honey Images or to see more of Caycie’s work visit her site Honey Images. Twitter.com/@HoneyImages Facebook.com/HoneyImages.Photography
A few years back I met this young kid, who worked at a bank and claimed he was a good DJ. As time went on we became good friends and I came to find out he was actually a very good DJ. He goes by the name of DJ Dnyce and represents the Black Gorilla DJs. Dnyce has supported both of my clothing lines Ethnology and now Million Monkey. We most recently met up with Dnyce after the Jamboree III Pool Party to catch up with him and find out what was new. MMC: Hey Dnyce, thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit with us! DN: no problem thanks for taking time to talk to me MMC: First and foremost, I have seen you all over the place lately, what’s your next project? DN: I have a few projects in the works like The Manhattan Project, Texas Flood Season II, R&B in This Club II, Jamboree pool party series, Front Street Magazine, and a few other projects that I cant discuss yet MMC: I did the very first Jamboree Pool Party with you a few years ago, and it has grown into a big event. What are your future plans for the Jamboree and why do you host them? DN: That very first Jamboree in 2008 was great LOL! Hopefully we can turn the Jamboree into
I have had a lot going on lately, so I apologize for the lack of a consistent blog. A few months ago I aligned my clothing company with a local rap group named Audio Renegades. The partnership we forged proved to be very lucrative for both entities and we are currently enjoying our partnership. I stopped by their studio fresh off of their recording of our theme song entitled “Million Monkey Outfit”, which is on our home page. After hearing the edited version of the song I decided to do an impromptu interview of them!! They flipped the script on me and took my camera to interview me as well. Enjoy the interview and thanks for the support!!!!!
Sunday, March 28th marked an important day for Million Monkey Clothing. It was my first show of the year and my official introduction into the scene. I spent the entire day hanging with my crew-Audio Renegades, Xavier the Voice, DJ DJ, and DJ DNyce. The day started off a little slow, but by noon Camargo Park was getting packed fast! I kept telling myself that they were there to meet me, Dicky Wang, but odds are they were there to see Baby Bash and Slim Thug. My first sale happened when I had to step away from the booth so I didn’t get a photo opportunity with my FIRST customer! I was in awe when Xavier the Freakin Rican, from the San Antonio Hip Hop station 98.5 the BEAT, came up to the booth and said “Hey you’re the MillionMonkey guy I’ve been seeing on Twitter!” Talk about shocked! This told me two things 1) Xavier really does keep up with who follows him 2) my brand name is getting out there. Xavier was with 106&Park’s Freestyle Friday contestant Ray C and the legendary DJ Robbie Rob. In addition to my tees, I was also selling fitted hats made by Brim(www.brimoftheworld.com) and designed by Sole Junkie(www.solejunkie.com). The fitteds were going faster than I could restock them! Audio Renegades (Trizzol and Hittaville) killed the stage with Xavier theVoice and had the crowd
